Who knew that Las Vegas was a great place to see beaver in the wild?
Last Saturday, my wife and I went on a beaver hunt in the Clark County Wetlands Park Nature Preserve. This gem is located on the east side of Las Vegas along the Las Vegas Wash.
To get there all you need to do is go all the way east on Tropicana until you see the sign for a left hand turn into the Wetlands just before the road starts to turn to the right and head south toward Sam Boyd Stadium.
Walking around in the park at 6:00 am will give you a glimpse of beaver, coyotes, owls, foxes, herons, egrets and all manner of water fowl. It is well worth a visit to the park and its brand new visitors center.
